I was so excited when Elizabeth from Bridal Bliss invited me to take part in a styled shoot for Portland Bride & Groom Magazine. The overall look to achieve was "Winter wonderland meets Ralph Lauren". Think warm, cozy, hot chocolate, tartan, whites & creams. They chose a blackwatch plaid pattern that instantly made my happy– it was the pattern of my grade school uniform and totally has a special place in my heart. My husband, our siblings, and some of my very best friends attended that school together, so reminders like this stir up plenty of wonderful memories! Also? It's so preppy and fun, and I haven't used plaid in a design in a long time. By now you know I love participating in styled shoots (with professionals I love to work with, of course). Lane' at Something Borrowed contacted me about providing paper goods for an "elegant garden" styled shoot– she was going for an elegant, timeless and classic look with more neutral/earthy colors (navy, cream, some gold and brown). I had recently been researching vintage botanical prints for a client, and thought that would be a fun way to incorporate some color but still keeping the overall feel neutral by adding a wood engraved overlay. When the grooms told me the plan to incorporate inspiration from their favorite movie, Amélie, into their wedding, a lovely image popped into my head– the garden gnome!! The invitation was an accordion fold complete with a gnome silhouette and their amazing engagement photos (taken by Brandon Witzel), and closed between two wood engraved coasters (how fun when the invitation can be used by guests?!) The invitation set, bound in blue satin ribbon, sat upon a bed of wood excelsior, and was enclosed and shipped in a square box. Not only did I have the great honor of designing their wedding invitations, but was also a participant in the ceremony.
It was a gorgeous August day under beautiful trees in a secluded hazelnut orchard in Aurora, Oregon. The ceremony was so well-written, meaningful, and full of love. This lovely, fun bunch of people below were so happy to participate in the wedding of two incredible people! Thanks W+M for inviting John and I play such an important role in your amazing wedding. Jennifer over at Perfect Planning asked me to provide a unique invitation for a snowy, Winter wonderland photoshoot taking place at Government Camp here in Oregon. The shoot was featured on The Perfect Palette and I'm just obsessed with these gorgeous colors popping out against the perfectly white snow. Below are the awesome professionals who collaborated on the shoot, and some of my favorite shots.

The theme was "Upcycled Brew" and we immediately agreed on what I would contribute– wood goods engraved on a beautiful dark brown walnut wood! I was so happy with the results and think they photographed so nicely with the bright colors going on in the rest of the tablescape. Here's just a couple quick shots of the spread! Since I am all about LOVE is LOVE, equality, who am I to judge who you love, and all that goodness, I said, "Sign me up!" She invited me to take part in an inspiration shoot taking place in New York, shot by the amazing Jen Huang. Kate had some great ideas for the suite involving trees and wood, but really didn't set any boundaries (which you know I looooove), so I came up with the suite shown below. The coaster and invitation were engraved on wood... mmmm! In today's feature, they say: "Lindsay of Paper Bloom Studio is one of those fabulous people that makes you want to get married, just so she can create something amazing for you. We had the pleasure of working with her on one of our inspiration shoots and she could not have been more wonderful! We asked her to tell us a bit about what she does and why she does it."
